St. Francis Xavier Catholic School
Gettysburg, PA | Pre-K - Grade 8

DISTINCTIVE. FAITH-FILLED. INSPIRING.

A Christ-Centered, Parent-Partnered
Approach to Education

Welcome! We are so glad that you are considering St. Francis Xavier Catholic School for your child’s education. Our school opened its first academic year in a wooden framed, one-room building behind the Church rectory in 1877. Our mission is to pass on the Gospel values and rich heritage of the Catholic faith, to assist parents in the spiritual, moral, and academic education of their children, and to prepare our students to be faith-filled members of the Church, community, and nation.

As our school prepares for its 150th anniversary in 2027, we will continue to strive for an authentically Catholic and academically excellent educational program and school community.

What’s New?

Over the past few months, we have been building a Makerspace and incorporating a robotics & coding program into some of our curriculum. Here is an exciting video of our middle school students learning how to code their ozobots!

What is an Ozobot? Ozobots are a fun way to engage kids in all levels to learn how to code.  The younger kids can draw out different patterns for the Ozobot to follow using pre-designed patterns.  In the upper grades, student use computers to code how the Ozobot will move.  We are even learning how to code the Ozobot to perform our school song! Both ways are fun and provide STEM learning in our school.

We’ve also been working on learning how to code our LEGO Spike Prime kits. This one is learning some new dance moves! Volume up for this one - Way to go!

“St. Francis Xavier Catholic School is a community grounded in faith and emphasizes moral development in addition to a balanced curriculum, which is very important to us. We value their approach in forming each student - physically, intellectually, and spiritually - into the person God has called them to be.”

— St. Francis Xavier Parent
